How to use it

  1. Choose your instrument. For guitar, bass and ukulele you can also pick an alternate tuning.
  2. Press Start and allow the microphone. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere: the sound is analysed only on your device.
  3. Play one string at a time and let it ring. The tuner recognises the string; tap a string to lock it (Manual).
  4. If the needle is to the left, tighten slightly; if it is to the right, loosen. Green means in tune.
  5. The headstock drawing lights up the peg you have to turn: its ring fills up as the string gets closer to the note, and a check mark stays on every string you have already tuned.

Siku (zampoña) and quena

Wind instruments are not “tuned” with pegs: what changes the pitch is your breath, the angle and how much you cover the tube. That is why, for siku and quena, this tool shows the note that is sounding, whether it belongs to your instrument’s key, a pitch line over time and how steady your breath is.

Tip: hold each note for 3–4 seconds and try to keep the line flat in the centre.
