Quick start · Latin American rhythms

Keyboard: Space = start/stop · ↑ ↓ = ±1 BPM · T = tap. The flashing screen can bother people sensitive to light.

How to practise with it

  1. Start slow: choose a tempo where you can play without mistakes.
  2. Turn on the subdivision to feel the space between beats (eighths, triplets, sixteenths).
  3. Use the speed trainer to reach your target tempo gradually.
  4. When you feel ready, try the silent bars: keep playing and see if you land together when the click comes back.

See it, hear it, feel it

Loud instruments like drums or siku can cover the click. That is why the beat can also be followed with the circle, pendulum or big beat boxes, a flashing screen (great on a TV or projector in class) and vibration on phones.

The first beat of each bar always has its own colour and sound, so you never lose the “one”.
